Not, you know, for fun.
Snowboarding.
A few weeks ago my girlfriend and I went snowboarding in Tahoe with her family. This was my third time out and, obviously, I wasn’t professional yet. So, first ride of the day, I fracture my wrist. To be fair (to me), it was a double-black diamond on ice. Not snow. Ice. Snow breaks your fall. Ice breaks your bones.
I don’t know for sure that it’s fractured, but I’d bet $20 it is. I do know that I’ve fractured and broken bones in the past and this feels like a fracture. I also know it’ll cost me WAY more than $20 to go see a doctor who will tell me what I already know and tell me to do things I already know I should be doing. Or not doing.
One of those “do not” items is riding my bike.
I know that now…’cause I did it…and it hurt.
So, now I have a wrist brace. Which is probably one of those “do” items.
See? I don’t need a doctor.
Probably.
